Local nonprofit and no-kill animal shelter The Haven will host an estate planning seminar on Friday, November 7 from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. at The Brennity, 50 Spring Run Dr., Fairhope. This seminar, entitled “Purr-fect Planning: How to save money in the Ruff” will cover important facts such as year-end tax planning, how you can protect your pets in case of illness or death, and tips on living well and protecting your finances against sudden, catastrophic illness. “Many people don’t realize that some simple planning can save you a bundle and help those that matter,” states elder law attorney Kyla Kelim. “Your tax deductible gift to organizations like The Haven is heaven sent and means life or death to so many, and gives the donor the pleasure of seeing the direct benefit of their blessing.” Mrs. Kelim, a national speaker and local attorney, practices elder law in Alabama and Florida and will provide tips for keeping money firmly in your pocket to protecting your beloved pets.
The seminar is free and a light lunch will be offered by Mary Ann’s Deli and Catering to those who attend. “We are grateful to have the continued support of business leaders like Mary Ann’s Deli, The Brennity of Fairhope, and Kyla Kelim, Esq.,” says The Haven’s Executive Director Mike Graham, “I prefer to call our volunteers, donors and these leaders our investors, as they are the reason these free educational opportunities are possible. Education is just one of the ways we can help prevent animal homelessness in our community and create a no-kill Baldwin County.” We encourage all to RSVP by November 6 by calling The Haven at 251-929-2494 or emailing your full name and contact number to info@HavenForAnimals.org. Please include the full name and contact number for your guests. Seating is limited and is available on a first come first serve basis. Since it can be difficult to react to a crisis, this seminar can help you set yourself and your family up for success.
If you would like to support the 501 (c)3 non-profit’s no-kill mission, please mail your tax deductible donation to Post Office Box 1063, Fairhope, AL 36533.
