POLO for PAWS postponed due to weather. The event will take place on Sunday, May 28, 2017.

If you enjoy The Haven’s annual Mardi Gras parade MMOR, where costumed canines take over downtown Fairhope and families have fun at the parade, then Polo for Paws is an event you will want to attend. For 30 years, families have enjoyed watching “the sport of kings” at Point Clear Polo. Polo for Paws was created to invite more people. Huge animal lovers and Haven adopters, Event Coordinator Elizabeth Radcliff and her husband also wanted to help The Haven. Radcliff’s “Anytime I can help animals” attitude led her to take the reins of this family-oriented event.

On Sunday, May 28 from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. (gates to open at 11 a.m.), Point Clear Polo is hosting a half-time dog costume contest to benefit The Haven. The gates open at 11 a.m. at Sonny Hill Farms Polo Field located off of Hwy 32 and Hwy 98 in Point Clear, Alabama. The Polo game starts at 1 p.m. During half-time while…

horses and riders rest, dressed-up dogs will parade across the field to compete for the grand prize: a custom dog house by RH Radcliff Homes. There will also be prizes for 2nd and 3rd place winners, and The Haven will be conducting an on-site pet adoption. “Our goal is for all the animals to be adopted,” said Radcliff.

General admission is $20 per vehicle and can be purchased at the gate the day of the event. For purchase prior to the event are VIP front row tailgate spots for $200. Each reserved spot includes a 20 x 20 space, 4 general admission tickets, and parking for one vehicle at the tent. There will be another tent set up for you to register your dog for the costume contest (entrance fee $25.)
