Mystic Mutts of Revelry 2013 is history! Over 300 dogs with their human escorts were waggin’ away thru the streets of Mutt-aritaville (a.k.a Fairhope). The event, while certainly a paw-ty, helped raise serious money for The Haven, an adoption guarantee shelter in Fairhope. The final monetary count is not yet in and will be reported in a few days, but many thanks to the dedicated Haven volunteers and staff, the sponsors (Go Play, Baldwin County Sewer System, Medicacom, Miller’s Grand Events, Fairhope’s BanCorp South), the City of Fairhope, our pre-parade MC and Grand Marshall, Shelby Mitchell of 95KSJ and to ALL who came out on a beautiful spring-like day to support a great cause. It took ALL of you to make the day a success! Stay tuned! More photos to follow!

On February 2, 2013 the 10th annual Mystic Mutts of Revelry Parade will be held. On that day at 3:30pm, over 300 dogs and their human companions are expected to wind thru the streets of downtown Fairhope, a.k.a Mutt-aritaville.
Although the event is a “paw-ty”, its serious goal is to enable The Haven to continue helping the homeless and abused animals in their care. The no-kill animal shelter was the first to bring this trend of masked humans with their pets to the Eastern Shore, and it’s growing every year.
Pets must be registered to be eligible to participate in the parade. The registration fee is $25 for one pet and two human companions, plus $5 for each additional animal from the same household and each additional human companion. All children ages 12 and younger are free to walk in the parade with a registered adult. Registration will be held the day of the event from 1:00pm to 3:00pm at the hospitality tent at the Fairhoper’s Community Park located on the corner of Morphy and S. Church Streets.
What is a Mardi Gras parade without a royal court! The highest bid made for a female dog will win the honor of Queen, and the highest bid for a male dog will win the honor of King. The runners up bid for each will be crowned Princess and Prince. Bids begin at $100.
To place a bid, mail a completed Bid Form to: MMOR Bid, P. O. Box 284, Montrose, AL 36559 or hand deliver the form in a sealed envelope marked “MMOR Bid” to The Haven at 559 S. Section St., Fairhope. All bids are due in-hand by Friday, January 25 at 2pm.
