Has your dog been trying to leap tall mailboxes in a single bound? Has he been trying to run like The Flash? He’s telling you he can’t wait for The Haven’s 12th annual Mystic Mutts of Revelry parade on Saturday, Feb. 7, 2015. The parade theme this year is “Superheroes to the Rescue.”
Led by Grand Marshals, the parade will begin at 1:00 pm from the Fairhoper’s Community Park located on the corner of S. Church Street and Morphy Avenue. Walkers can pre-register online or at the hospitality tent on parade day. To pre-register ($25 per well behaved, leashed and currently vaccinated dog and two human escorts), visit this link by Feb. 6 at 4:00 pm: http://www.eventbee.com/v/havenforanimals/boxoffice . Registration on parade day ($30) will be open until 12:30 pm. Additional mutts and escorts from the same household are $5 each. All proceeds help The Haven feed and shelter homeless animals in Baldwin County.
But you don’t have to wait until the parade begins to have fun. Festivities, led by emcee JD Crowe, will begin at 10:30 am in the Fairhoper’s Community Park. Come hear music, check out all the cool costumes and join this year’s sponsors in supporting The Haven: Presenting Sponsor – Fairhope Title Services, LLC; Gold sponsors – Aging in Alabama, Baldwin County Sewer Service, City of Fairhope, Faulkner State Community College, McSharry’s Irish Pub, Miller’s Grand Events, Simply Signs, Southern Edge Photography, Tameron Honda; Silver sponsors – Gwin’s Commercial Printing, Identity Signs, True Marketing & Creative, Subway, Womble Enterprises LLC; Bronze Sponsors – Fairhope Realty Group, Go Play Pet Services, Henry Electronics, Rick’s Gun and Pawn Shop, Spring Hill College, and Tydall Federal Credit Union.
Superheroes need capes, right? Your four-legged super pup can wear a royal cape and a crown. Bidding for spots in the Royal Court (King, Queen, Prince, Princess, Grand Duke and Grand Duchess) ends Wednesday, January 21 at 4 pm. Besides woofin’ it up as royalty, if your dog wins, he’ll be featured in media promotions and appearances leading up to the big day. His reign will continue until 2016’s highest bidder is announced. Bidding starts at $100. Find out more at https://havenforanimals.org/index.php/mmor/parade/royalty . Your bids will be added to funds that provide vet care, vaccinations, meds, food and much more for homeless animals. Donating and bidding will make you a superhero to the animals.
