Best Friends No More Homeless Pets Network and The Haven announced they will be teaming up to find adoptive homes for an additional 50 furry felines in Baldwin County.
Throughout June, you can adopt any cat 6 months or older for just $5 from the no-kill shelter located in Fairhope. The Haven and other local animal control shelters have been pounced on by lots of kittens and puppies lately. The no-kill, non-profit collaborates with area municipal shelters in Baldwin to reduce shelter overcrowding and increase the communities save rate. This adoption promotion will help accomplish that by transferring healthy and treatable cats and dogs from Baldwin municipal shelters to The Haven where they are made ready for adoption. This helps the agency get closer to reaching their mission – ending pet homelessness.
“We are thrilled and grateful to be able to join our Network Partners to help save more kittens,” stated Michael Graham, executive director for The Haven. “Cats typically make up…
for the highest number of shelter deaths and together we aim to reduce this, “Graham added.
Besides reeling in an energetic kitten or a lap warmer, you will also catch a great adoption package from The Haven that includes a free month of pet health insurance, a free bag of Science Diet food and 30 days of flea, tick and heartworm prevention. Before going home with you, all kittens have been spayed/neutered, microchipped, dewormed, tested for feline aids, feline leukemia and heartworms, are up-to-date with vaccinations, and much more.
This month-long promotion celebrating cats is part of The Haven’s joint effort with Best Friends Animal Society to end pet homelessness by increasing adoptions. By adopting a kitten or cat from The Haven, you will free up space, resources and time that can be given to another homeless pet who will get a second chance at a loving home and free up those resources for yet another animal in need.
