The Haven’s “Fix’n Ferals” program is designed to assist community members in managing the feral cat population in a humane and effective way. Through this program, we provide customers with a humane trap to safely capture feral cats. Once trapped, these cats can be transported to a designated vet clinic for a scheduled appointment.
At the clinic, each cat will undergo a spay or neuter procedure and receive an FVRCP vaccine along with a one-year rabies vaccine, all administered by a licensed veterinarian. To help identify the cats as part of a trap-neuter-return program, they will also have one ear tipped, a painless procedure done while they are under anesthesia. This ear tipping is required and serves as a universal sign that the cat has been sterilized and vaccinated.
The fee for this comprehensive service is $125, payable by cash, money order, credit card, or debit card. Payment in full is required when booking a reservation for your pet(s). Please note that a 3.5% convenience fee applies to credit and debit card transactions. It’s important to understand that neither The Haven nor the veterinary clinic performing these services is liable for any damages. This initiative not only helps control the feral cat population but also significantly improves the welfare of the cats involved.
Requirements:
- A $100 refundable cash deposit is required to use a humane trap which is property of The Haven. Traps are required to be returned to The Haven no later than 24 hours post-surgery. Traps that are not returned, lost, stolen, or damaged will forfeit the $100 deposit.
- The individual making the appointment is responsible for humanely transporting the feral cat in the humane trap to and from the veterinary clinic.
- Should a client fail to attend their scheduled appointment without cancelling with The Haven at least three business days in advance, a no-show fee of $35 will be imposed for each missed appointment.
