Who would have known that the most popular clothing item worn by almost everyone in the world could help make a difference for a homeless cat or dog? From ripped, skinny, bell-bottoms, or bleached, “blue jeans” as they called to come in all shapes, sizes, and colors. Old jeans are repurposed and crafty folks have recycled the material to make all sorts of items from handbags to house rags.
Apparently, the animal advocates at BP Energy of Mobile was ahead of the game and they knew how to use denim to help homeless pets. In June, the staff of BP Energy organized a “blue jean” dress code day where staff could pitch that dull inform for the day and switch things up by wearing blue jeans. This created excited amongst the team which overflowed when the compassionate team selected The Haven No-Kill Animal Shelter to benefit from their efforts.
The Haven is grateful to BP Energy for their support and applauds their efforts to help better our communities.
