Fairhope, Alabama – March 20, 2025 – As we approach National Volunteer Appreciation Week – April 20 to April 26, The Haven is proud to recognize the incredible contributions of our dedicated volunteers who fuel our mission with their time, talent, and passion. In 2024, volunteers collectively donated approximately 15,000 hours of service, providing professional skill sets that enhance our programs and services across the nonprofit.
According to the latest data from Independent Sector in collaboration with the Do Good Institute, the value of a volunteer hour rose by over 5% in 2024 compared to the previous year, reaching an hourly rate of $33.49. When calculated, the 15,000 hours contributed by The Haven’s volunteers equate to an astounding $502,000 in value. This figure represents the equivalent of approximately eight full-time employees—an investment The Haven would otherwise be unable to fund.
