The Haven No-Kill Animal Shelter in Fairhope, Alabama, announces that it has been named a “2022 Top-Rated Nonprofit” by GreatNonprofits, the leading website for community recommendations of charities and nonprofits.
Since 2000, The Haven has provided life-saving services for homeless animals, for a remarkable total of over 11,000 saved so far.
In accepting the award, Michael Graham, the Executive Director of The Haven during most of its existence, said, “We are grateful for our supporters who make our lifesaving mission possible. Their acts of kindness and unwavering compassion are the reason The Haven is awarded this tremendous honor from GreatNonprofits.”
This year alone, through November 30th, The Haven has cared for and saved over 600 animals, performed over 800 medical exams and over 300 spay/neuter surgeries.
As of November 30, The Haven is currently providing a safe place and care for 29 canines and 27 felines, for a total of 56 animals.
The Top-Rated Nonprofit Award is based on the rating and number of reviews that The Haven received from volunteers, donors, and aid recipients. The stories of lives of humans and pets that have been changed because of The Haven’s work are numerous.
