The Haven will kick off June, which is “National Adopt a Shelter Cat Month,” with an adoption at Pet Supermarket in Daphne on June 7 from 10am to 1pm. Through their Mobile Adoption Rescue Unit (MARU), The Haven will be transporting their adoptable animals, many having been pulled from their animal control partners in Baldwin County. The team will also be available to answer any questions on adopting, donating, or volunteering. In addition, they will be hosting a Microchip Clinic on site led by Dr. Ron Shindler and his staff from Eastern Shore Animal Hospital. The cost of this life-saving procedure will be $20. June 1 is the start of the Atlantic hurricane season; therefore, having your pet microchipped can increase the possibility that your pet will be reunited with you should you become separate during a storm. Small price to pay for peace of mind.

The Haven feels they have the best adoption package in Baldwin County. All adoptable dogs and cats are current on vaccinations, spayed/neutered and micro-chipped. They have been tested for heartworms (treated if positive) and feline AIDS/leukemia and treated for fleas and worms. Along with a new pet, adopters receive the animal’s medical records, a FREE bag of Science Diet food, a FREE pet training DVD, and FREE thirty days of pet health insurance. Adoption fees are: $90 for dogs and $65 for cats, which is such a great value for anyone looking to add a pet to their life!
