On Saturday, August 2 The Haven will hold a Microchip Clinic at Pet Supermarket in Daphne, from 10am to 1pm. This life-saving procedure, which will cost $20, will be administered by Dr. Ron Shindler and his staff from Eastern Shore Animal Hospital. In addition, The Haven will be showcasing many wonderful cuddly dogs and cats that will be transported by the Haven’s Mobile Adoption Rescue Unit (MARU). The Haven’s team will be available to help potential adopters find the perfect match for their family and provide free pet information.
On the following Saturday, August 9, from 11am to 3pm, The Haven will hold an adoption event on their usual second Saturday of the month at Petsmart in the Eastern Shore Shopping Plaza in Spanish Fort.
“Despite the hot weather, our animals are always cool and comfortable in MARU,” said executive director Mike Graham. “Because of that, and because of businesses that support us, like Pet Supermarket and Petsmart, we can continue to hit the pavement in efforts to increase our adoptions.
With the best adoption package in Baldwin County, all adoptable animals from The Haven are current on vaccinations, spayed/neutered and micro-chipped. They have been tested for heartworms (treated if positive) and feline AIDS/leukemia and treated for fleas and de-wormed. The adopter also receives the animal’s medical records, a free bag of Science Diet food, a FREE pet training DVD, and FREE thirty days of pet health insurance. Adoption fees are: $90 for dogs and $65 for cats. If you would like to join our team of dedicated volunteers, please contact us today at 251-929-3980 or log onto our website, havenforanimals.org.
