The May flowers are already blooming and so is The Haven™ with lots of adorable cats and dogs. In a concerted effort to find homeless pets a life-long loving home, The Haven™ will hold an adoption at Pet Supermarket in Daphne (next to Publix), on Saturday, May 2 from 11am to 3pm. They will be showcasing their cuddly, available cats and dogs, most of which have been pulled from local municipal shelters.
Then on their usual 2nd Saturday of the month, May 9, they will be at PetSmart in Spanish Fort at the Eastern Shore Shopping Plaza. The Haven’s Mobile Adoption Rescue Unit (MARU) will transport the animals to both events which are just before Mother’s Day, so a cuddly pet is surely waiting for the right family. In addition, their life-saving team will be available to talk to potential adopters in helping them find the right pet for their home, discuss the adoption process and answer any other questions they may have. Information on how to become a volunteer and join The Haven™ in their mission of eliminating euthanasia as a form of animal control will also be available.
All pets adopted from The Haven™ have been spayed or neutered, micro-chipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and come with 30 days of free pet health insurance. In addition, dogs are tested for heartworms (treated if positive) and cats are tested for feline AIDS and feline leukemia. Adopters will receive all medical paperwork including tags and certificates, a free bag of Hill’s pet food, and a pet training DVD. The fee for adoptable dogs is $90 and for cats is $65.
