BARC! Spay and Neuter Voucher Program

BARC! is the only agency providing a low cost spay/neuter program for ALL of Baldwin County.  Two types of vouchers are available to Baldwin County residents who rescue or adopt a homeless animal:

DISCOUNT VOUCHER has no income guidelines. The intention of this program is to assist individuals who have adopted or rescued a homeless animal.  LOW-INCOME VOUCHER is available for households with a combined income of less than $30,000 or with anyone in the household on Medicaid. Must provide current IRS 1040, Social Security Benefits letter or valid Medicaid card.

In order to minimize pet over-population and reduce euthanasia as a means of animal control, pet owners are encouraged to spay/neuter. Some participating vets may require additional fees (rabies, vaccinations, boarding office visit fees and post-surgical pain medication, etc.) Be sure to inquire about these additional fees prior to making your appointment.

Low-cost spay/neuter vouchers are made possible by grants and foundations such as PetSmart Charities.  NOTE:  Voucher rates subject to change according to availability of program.

South Alabama Spay and Neuter Center

We are located in Mobile, AL and are dedicated to decreasing pet overpopulation.  South AL Spay and Neuter Center provides a high quality, low cost option for spay and neuter procedures.  We have developed a high quality hospital that meets or exceeds the standard of care for these services. We do not have the financial demands of a full service hospital and can pass these savings on to you.  We also offer vaccinations at the time of surgery.

Dr. Jeni Knizley is our veterinarian.  She is a Mobile native and has been practicing in the area for over 4 years.  Dr. Knizley's passion is surgery (especially spays and neuters) and shelter medicine.

We are not a substitute for regular veterinary visits. If you do not have a regular veterinarian, we will be happy to refer you to a veterinary hospital in your area.

Hours:  Monday - Thursday 7:30am - 5:30pm

Surgeries by appointment only.
