The Chris Myers and Fox10 “GOING THE EXTRA MILE” award and a check for $500 was presented to The Haven on December 1, 2009, recognizing the outstanding accomplishments of The Haven's director, staff and volunteers for their dedicated work; rescuing and providing refuge, veterinarian attention, caring foster homes and finding forever homes for Baldwin County's homeless and abandoned animals.

The goal of The Haven is to stop the euthanization of healthy adoptable dogs and cats in Baldwin County. Each animal adopted from The Haven is current on vaccinations, dewormed, heartworm tested and spayed and neutered.
